Work, Health and Safety Policy (closes 24 Oct 2026)
Norfolk Island Regional Council (Council) has placed the updated draft Work, Health and Safety Policy (2.05) on public exhibition for 28 days seeking community and stakeholder feedback.
The draft policy was presented at the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 23 September 2026 and will now be placed on public exhibition. Read the report tabled at the meeting under section 13.6 of the 23 September 2026 Council Meeting business paper.

The policy has been reviewed as part of Council's regular policy review process. The proposed changes are minor and do not alter the intent of the policy, but provide additional clarity, including recognising physically and psychologically safe workplaces as a policy objective, adding definitions for ‘Officer’ and ‘due diligence’, and extending the responsibilities section to clarify accountability levels.
Following the exhibition period, a further report will be presented to Council outlining any submissions received and recommending any revisions or adoption of a final policy.
