The Norfolk Island Museum reveals the island's remarkable and multi-layered stories.

Famous for its colourful history, Norfolk Island was first settled by Polynesians, followed in 1788 by the British, who later established it a strict penal settlement.

Since 1856, the island has been home to the descendants of the Bounty mutineers and Tahitian women.

Located across heritage buildings in the Kingston and Arthurs Vale Historic Area (KAVHA), the museums and research centre invite you to explore Norfolk Island's turbulent past as well as it's vibrant, living culture.

The R.E.O. Museum is the ideal place to begin your visit. Here you can purchase a book, souvenirs or refreshments.
