Animal Importation
Norfolk Island Regional Council Animal Import Permit
In order to import an animal into Norfolk Island, you will need to comply with the following conditions:
- conditions set by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources under the Biosecurity Act 2015 to manage biosecurity risks. Access the conditions here: Importing live animals and reproductive material - DAFF (agriculture.gov.au)
- conditions set by Animals (Importation) Act 1983 (NI). Council’s role is to assess the appropriateness of certain dog breeds and animal species that are imported to the island. If you are importing a dog, please refer to the list of restricted and prohibited breeds found on the third page of the application form.

Refer to pages 6 and 7 of the current fees and charges for costs associated with applying for importation of an animal, and for annual dog registration fees.
