Due to a current vacancy, Norfolk Island Regional Council (Council) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from members of the community or representatives of relevant community groups or sectors for Council’s Environment and Sustainability Advisory Committee (ESAC). To be eligible for appointment you must be aged 16 years or over and live on Norfolk Island and have a genuine interest in the environment and sustainability matters.
The Committee’s aim is to assist Council on matters relating to Norfolk Island’s sustainability, such as waste and wastewater management, water quality and water security, biodiversity conservation and land management matters that relate to Council Land.
Committee Membership will consist of a minimum of five community voting-members from the following areas:
- Special interest groups (Sustainability/Environment/Biodiversity)
- General community
- Education
- Agriculture
The Committee also consists of four non-voting members consisting of Council staff and Commonwealth departmental stakeholders.
