Norfolk Island Regional Council advises that three more service reviews have been recently completed as part of the structured and ongoing program to strengthen Council’s long-term planning and service delivery.
The Norfolk Telecom (Version 2), Waste Management and Tourism Service Reviews were formally presented to the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 1 April 2026. All reviews that have been completed to date are now publicly available on Council’s website on here: www.nirc.gov.au/Your-council/Council-documents/Service-Reviews.
One review remains underway — the Roads Service Review — which will be presented to an upcoming Council meeting once finalised and will be made available to the community following Council consideration. This will conclude the project to undertake nine Council service reviews.
These reviews undertake a thorough analysis of each of the Council Services and outlines the current service model, key operating constraints and the main matters relevant to future service planning and sustainability.
Together, these reviews will play an important role in informing Council’s future planning documents, including the development of the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) framework, and will directly contribute to the 2026–27 Operational Plan and future strategic documents.
