The Waste Management Centre’s (WMC) recycling and waste progress over Quarter 4 of FY2025-26 from 1 April to 30 June 2026 is now available.

All figures are drawn directly from Council’s PIVOT tracking database. Every load dropped at the sorting shed is collected, sorted, baled, and weighed on-site, with the result logged against that load in the system — giving Council a full, traceable record across all 257 loads processed this quarter.

Total Waste Managed

147.5 tonnes of total waste was processed through the centre.

Total Diverted

99.9 tonnes successfully diverted away from landfill disposal (67.7% of all processed waste kept out of landfill).

Processed On-Island

57.2 tonnes recycled locally, which includes 27.5 tonnes of crushed glass, 26 tonnes of organics, and 3.6 tonnes of shredded cardboard.

Baled for Export

42.7 tonnes of materials sorted and baled to be shipped away for recycling.

Residual Waste

47.5 tonnes of general residual waste that had to be shipped for final disposal.
