Norfolk Island Regional Council are seeking individuals interested in maintaining the KAVHA Grounds and Buildings, and Open Spaces precincts, to high standard of presentation and safety, ensuring the area reflects its cultural, historical and environmental significance.
Key Accountabilities:
- Undertake routine landscaping and horticultural maintenance across KAVHA precincts, including mowing, turf care, weed control, pruning, planting, mulching, and cleaning.
- Operate and maintain tools, plant, and machinery safely in line with SOPs and safety standards.
- Perform manual labour tasks such as digging, concreting, and material handling.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organised work sites and workshops.
- Assist with scaffolding, trades support tasks, and general maintenance duties.
- Comply with WHS requirements, including hazard reporting, training, and use of SWMS and Take Five assessments.
- Apply sound judgement and problem-solving skills under the direction of the Team Leader.
Competencies and Qualifications:
- Licenses to operate small plan and equipment as required.
- Certification for the handling and usage of appropriate herbicides and chemicals as required ie. Chemcert or ability to obtain.
- Certification for Working in Confined Space or ability to obtain.
- Certification for Working at Heights or ability to obtain.
- Current construction industry induction card (white card) or ability to obtain.
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate or ability to obtain.
- Current C and MR Class License or ability to obtain.
- Chainsaw ticket or ability to obtain.
