Location: Norfolk Island 
Salary: Pay Level 6.1 (as per NIRC Enterprise Agreement) + superannuation  
Contract Term: Full-Time, Permanent

Norfolk Island Regional Council is seeking an organised, reliable and capable person to join Norfolk Island International Airport as the Airport Compliance & Administration Officer. This is a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career in a dynamic operational environment while supporting an essential community service. 

The role combines administration, coordination and compliance work that supports safe and efficient airport operations. No previous aviation experience is required. Comprehensive training will be provided. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and systems, pays attention to detail and is willing to learn. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Coordinating records, documentation and administrative processes.
  • Supporting staff training, inductions and qualification tracking.
  • Assisting with airport security access and authorisation processes.
  • Organising meetings, maintaining registers and tracking actions.
  • Liaising with contractors, service providers, Council departments and regulatory agencies. 
  • Supporting audit readiness, continuous improvement and learning airport systems through structured training. 

About You 

You may come from administration, customer service, retail, hospitality, project support, records management, compliance, finance, local government, small business administration or another organised, people-focused or process-focused role. Previous aviation experience is not required. What matters most is reliability, attention to detail, willingness to learn, sound judgement and confidence working with people, documents and systems.
