Norfolk Island Regional Council is seeking quotes from contractors to provide a range of environmental services within the Argentine Ant Eradication Program and Public Reserves/Environment Program on Norfolk Island.
Argentine Ant Eradication Program
Field Monitoring and Baiting Services
The successful supplier is expected to provide the following services:
- Investigate and identify potential Argentine Ant infestations.
- Conduct field surveys of number and extent of affected areas, and report results.
- Treat areas affected by Argentine Ants with a variety of treatments.
- Operate council vehicles and powered equipment.
Public Reserves/Environment Program
Roadside Weed Control
Pest control on public land
Natural Resource Reserve Management – pest and weed control, revegetation, fencing, reserved maintenance.
The successful supplier is expected to provide any/all the following services:
- Identify and remove roadside/reserve weeds as directed by Team Leader Biodiversity.
- Conduct feral cat trapping, and rodent and bird removal from reserves and public land.
- Maintain reserve fences and planting protection structures.
- Maintain new plantings with follow up weeding and vegetation control.
- Reserve maintenance – slashing, weeding, pruning of tracks and open areas.
Applications should address the above criteria and include:
- Relevant experience, licences and/or qualifications in the service.
- Current Public Liability Insurance and other relevant insurance policies.
- Availability for any inductions.
- The hourly rate to provide the service.
- A disclosure of any current or foreseeable conflicts of interest.
