Norfolk Island Regional Council (Council) has adopted the Drought Response Plan (the Plan) and reported on community submissions at the 10 December 2025 Council meeting.
The Plan was placed on Public Exhibition for 28 days, closing on 22 October 2025. The purpose of the Plan is to strengthen drought preparedness, improve water security, and establish a coordinated and clearly defined framework for managing drought conditions on Norfolk Island.
For those interested, Council’s short-term, medium-term and long-term actions are detailed on page 8 of the Plan.
Included in the Business Paper for the 10 December Council Meeting was a 29-page summary of de-identified public submissions received and how each item raised was addressed and/or actioned in the Plan.
